Meet Ronald Lowe

The Person Behind Adventures in the Mail


Adventures in the Mail was created by Ronald Lowe, who believes there is still something special about receiving a real letter in the mailbox.

The idea grew from a lifelong appreciation for the excitement, anticipation and personal connection that can come from sending and receiving something through the mail. Ron wanted to take that feeling and create an experience that today's children could enjoy—while encouraging their curiosity, imagination and love of discovery.

Billy, Gracie & Scout are the first characters to bring that vision to life, but they are only the beginning. Ronald's goal is to create adventures that can inspire people of different ages to read, imagine, explore and look forward to something arriving in their mailbox.

At the heart of it all is a simple idea: make something worth waiting for.

The Story Behind Adventures in the Mail

The idea for Adventures in the Mail comes from experiences Ron remembers from his childhood and young adulthood.

He remembers collecting the cardboard coins found inside Mallo Cup candy wrappers and saving them until he had enough to send away for something special. There was no instant gratification. You collected the coins, put everything together, mailed it off—and then you waited.

He also remembers writing letters and making recordings to send to friends serving in Vietnam. Once they were mailed, there was nothing to do but wait for a response.

You wrote. You mailed it. You waited. And then, one day, you heard back.

Those experiences created a sense of anticipation and connection that stayed with Ron.

Years later, that same feeling became the inspiration for Adventures in the Mail: a way to give children something personal to open, something exciting to discover and, perhaps most importantly, something worth waiting for.

And so, Billy, Gracie & Scout began their journey.

Their adventures are just beginning!
